SCS on Eastern District visit
Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Joshua Law, at a media session before conducting home visits in Eastern District under the "Celebrations for All" project today (July 24):

Reporter: How would you prevent the incident of RTHK from happening again? And what are the purposes of your visit today?

Secretary for the Civil Service: The purpose of my visit today is to understand in person the community needs in Eastern District, and through visiting families and my interaction with District Council members and my government colleagues in the district, I can get to know better how things are developing in the district and what their needs are. This will help tremendously in the implementation of various measures of the Government.

As regards RTHK, I think every government department ought to adhere to the established practices and guidelines in handling requests for manpower or other issues. I am quite sure that the management of RTHK will do their best to resolve the problem.
