Young artists from Cantonese Opera Academy to showcase their talent

     The Cantonese Opera Academy of Hong Kong Training Course - End of Term Performance 2016/17, presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, will be held on August 19. The show will offer an opportunity for the Academy's young Cantonese opera performers to showcase their talent and achievements onstage.

     The performance will include four Cantonese opera excerpts, namely "The Lion's Pavilion", "Encounter" from "Contention for the Seal", "Purple Bamboo Forests" from "Merciless Sword Under Merciful Heaven" and "The Funeral Hall" from "Merciless Sword Under Merciful Heaven". The programme will feature current students of the Academy including Premium Jiny So, Kwong Shing-kwan, Cheung Siu-lun, Tse Siu-ki, Lee Ching-yan, Chan On-kiu, Chu Yin-yiu, Ma Yan-wai, Ip Tsz-yu, Li Yi-yan, Cheung Lok-yi, Chu Pok-ki, Lui Chi-fung, Lung Fuk-hoi, Wong Yeuk-ning, Wan Chi-hung, Tsao Tsai-I and Yip Hei-ning.

     The Cantonese Opera Academy of Hong Kong organises different training courses to train up performers, playwrights and instrument accompanists, among which is a four-year programme of training performers in a progressive way by professional tutors and senior artists.

     The Cantonese Opera Academy of Hong Kong - End of Term Performance 2016/17 will be staged at 7.30pm on August 19 (Saturday) at the Auditorium of the Ko Shan Theatre New Wing.
