Correctional officers stop assault by person in custody

At 3.22pm, a 22-year-old female person in custody suddenly assaulted a 35-year-old female person in custody in the visit room. Officers on the scene immediately stopped the assailant and called for reinforcement.
The victim sustained injuries to her back and arm. After examination and treatment by the medical officer in the centre hospital, she was transferred to a public hospital for further treatment.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The assailant was remanded for the offence of trafficking in dangerous drugs.
