EPD convictions in June

     Seventy-nine convictions were recorded in June 2017 for breaches of legislation enforced by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD).

     Thirteen of the convictions were under the Air Pollution Control Ordinance, eight were under the Noise Control Ordinance, one was under the Product Eco-responsibility Ordinance, and 57 were under the Waste Disposal Ordinance.

     The heaviest fine in June was $50,000, assessed against a clinic for improper disposal of clinical waste.
