The Transport Department (TD) today (July 11) reminded the public that to facilitate tram track renewal works in Eastern District, temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Eastern District from 10am this Friday (July 14) to 9.59am on August 4 (Friday).

Temporary traffic arrangements
------------------------------------

(a) Road closures

* The following road sections will be closed to all vehicular traffic (except trams):

(1) the nearside lane of Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound from a point about 50 metres west of its junction with Aldrich Bay Road to a point about 15m east of the same junction; and
(2) the section of Aldrich Bay Road from its junction with Shau Kei Wan Road to a point about 25m north of the same junction.

(b) Traffic diversions

(1) The section of Aldrich Bay Road from its junction with Nam On Street to a point about 20m south of the same junction will be converted into one-way southbound traffic;
(2) Affected vehicles on Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound heading for Oi Shun Road westbound will be diverted via Aldrich Street northbound, Po Man Street, Mong Lung Street northbound and Aldrich Bay Road westbound;
(3) Affected vehicles on Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound heading for Oi Yin Street northbound will be diverted via Aldrich Street northbound, Po Man Street, Mong Lung Street northbound and Aldrich Bay Road westbound;
(4) Affected vehicles on Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound heading for Tung Hei Road eastbound will be diverted via Aldrich Street northbound, Po Man Street and Mong Lung Street northbound;
(5) Affected vehicles on Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound heading for Mong Lung Street southbound will be diverted via Aldrich Street northbound and Po Man Street; and
(6) Affected vehicles on Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound heading for the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation Car Park will be diverted via Aldrich Street northbound, Po Man Street, Mong Lung Street northbound, Tung Hei Road westbound, Nam On Lane, Nam On Street and Aldrich Bay Road southbound.

Temporary transport arrangements
---------------------------------------

(a) Bus diversions

(1) NWFB Route No. 82X will be diverted via Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound, Aldrich Street northbound, Po Man Street and Mong Lung Street northbound; and
(2) Cross Harbour Tunnel Route Nos. 102, 102P and N122 will be diverted via Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound and Aldrich Street northbound.

(b) Bus stop arrangements

(1) The bus stop of NWFB Route No. 82X on Aldrich Bay Road eastbound near Oi Yin Street will be suspended, and a temporary bus stop will be provided at Shau Kei Wan Bus Terminus; and
(2) The bus stop of Cross Harbour Tunnel Route Nos. 102, 102P and N122 on Aldrich Bay Road eastbound near Oi Yin Street will be suspended.

     Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on site to guide motorists. The public transport operators will display notices to advise passengers of the above temporary arrangements. The TD anticipates that the traffic in the vicinity of Aldrich Bay Road and Shau Kei Wan Road would be more congested than normal days. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion. Members of the public are advised to plan their journey early and allow more traveling time to cater for unexpected delay, and stay alert to the latest traffic news through media.
