LD to hold occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Occupational Health Series of Office Workers (I): Health Hints on the Use of Display Screen Equipment" on July 17 (Monday), which is designed for people who use computers for prolonged periods. To enhance their awareness of occupational health, the talk will introduce the Occupational Safety and Health (Display Screen Equipment) Regulation and elaborate on occupational health hazards associated with the prolonged use of display screen equipment and the preventive measures. Demonstrations of workplace exercise will also be included.

     The talk will be held at 3pm in the Lecture Hall, Hong Kong Space Museum, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. The LD's Occupational Hygienist and Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Health Hazards of Hot Environment at Work" on July 21 (Friday). The talk is designed for workers working in hot environments to enhance their awareness of heat stroke prevention. Symptoms of heat stroke, first aid management and preventive measures will be discussed.

     The talk will be held at 3pm in the Lecture Hall, Hong Kong Space Museum. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse and Occupational Hygienist will give the talk.
