Transcript of remarks by CE (with video)
****************************************
Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mrs Carrie Lam, at a media session at PMQ in Central after visiting the North District, Kowloon City District, and Central and Western District today (July 2):

Reporter: There were calls from yesterday's protest to investigate … C Y Leung's UGL incident and the undeclared payments. How are you going to address that call and also what's your priority, what's your priority when it comes to extending the anti-corruption laws to Chief Executive?

Chief Executive: There is an outstanding recommendation from a committee chaired by Mr Andrew Li, the former Chief Justice, on extending Section 3 and Section 8 of the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance to the Chief Executive. I have said in my manifesto that I will follow up actively on this particular recommendation, but I have to say that because in my capacity as the Chief Secretary for Administration, I was also sort of put in charge of this particular initiative. There are complications that need to be resolved both constitutionally and legally, but I can say in very clear terms that I certainly feel that this is something that will help to boost the confidence of the people and I will follow up in a vigilant way. Thank you very much.
