LD to hold occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Occupational Health for Couriers (Manual Delivery)" on July 7 (Friday). The talk will discuss some common occupational health hazards for couriers in the manual delivery industry, and introduce the causes of and preventive measures for musculoskeletal disorders and heat stroke. Demonstrations of workplace exercises also will be included.

     The talk will be held at 3pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Occupational Safety and Health for Confined Space Workers" on July 13 (Thursday). The talk will discuss occupational safety, health hazards and preventive measures relating to working in confined spaces to enhance workers' awareness of these issues.

     The talk will be held at 6.30pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library. The LD's Occupational Hygienist, Occupational Safety Officer and Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.
