Wife of President Xi visits kindergarten (with photos/video)

     The wife of President Xi Jinping, Peng Liyuan, visited Yau Yat Chuen School after her arrival in Hong Kong today (June 29). She was accompanied by the wife of the Chief Executive, Mrs Regina Leung. With more than 1 100 students, the school is a non-profit-making kindergarten joining the Free Quality Kindergarten Education Scheme.

     Peng was received by the Under Secretary for Education, Mr Kevin Yeung; the Chairman of the kindergarten's School Management Committee, Mr Yu Kwok-chun; and the kindergarten's Supervisor, Mr Kenneth Fang.

     After observing classroom and outdoor activities, Peng watched student performances and chatted with them. The students presented her a fan with hand-painted pandas as a souvenir.  She was also briefed on the implementation progress of the Free Quality Kindergarten Education Policy.
