Special traffic arrangements on Hong Kong Island

A. Road closure
The following roads will be closed from about 8pm on June 28 to noon on July 1 or until road closure is lifted:
1. The slip road leading from eastbound Harcourt Road to northbound Performing Arts Avenue;
2. Lung King Street;
3. Lay-bys on westbound Lung Wui Road;
4. Lay-bys on Lung Wo Road; and
5. The general pick-up/ drop-off and loading/ unloading area on Lung Wo Road north of Star Ferry Multi-Storey car park.
The following roads will be closed from about 12.01am on June 29 to noon on July 1 or until road closure is lifted:
1. Expo Drive;
2. Expo Drive East;
3. Expo Drive Central;
4. Road P2;
5. Convention Avenue between Fenwick Pier Street and Expo Drive;
6. Eastbound Convention Avenue between Fleming Road and Tonnochy Road;
7. Northbound Fleming Road between Harbour Road and Convention Avenue; and
8. Harbour Road between Fenwick Pier Street and Fleming Road will be intermittently closed.
Stadium Path will be closed from about 12.01am on June 30 to noon on July 1 or until road closure is lifted.
Westbound Convention Avenue between Fleming Road and Tonnochy Road, and southbound Fleming Road between Convention Avenue and Harbour Road will be closed from about 6am to noon on July 1 or until road closure is lifted.
B. Traffic diversions
The following traffic diversions will be implemented from about 12.01am on June 29 to noon on July 1 or until road closure is lifted:
1. Traffic along eastbound Fenwick Pier Street cannot enter eastbound Convention Avenue and will be diverted via eastbound Harbour Road;
2. Traffic along northbound Fleming Road must turn left to westbound Harbour Road or turn right to eastbound Harbour Road;
3. Traffic along northbound Fleming Road flyover must turn right to eastbound Harbour Road; and
4. Traffic along westbound Harbour Road can turn right to the entrances of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, and the traffic from the exit of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre can turn right to westbound Harbour Road.
The following traffic diversions will be implemented from about 6am to noon on July 1 or until road closure is lifted:
1. Traffic along westbound Hung Hing Road must turn left to southbound Tonnochy Road; and
2. Traffic along northbound Tonnochy Road must turn right to eastbound Hung Hing Road.
C. Temporary Restricted Zones
The following road sections will be designated as restricted zones 24 hours daily from 12.01am on June 29 to 11.59pm on July 1:
1. The southern kerbside lane of Gloucester Road service road from a point about 10 metres east of its junction with Fenwick Street to a point about 65 metres east of the same junction;
2. The southern kerbside lane of Gloucester Road service road from a point about 35 metres west of its junction with Fleming Road to a point about 90 metres west of the same junction;
3. The southern kerbside lane of Gloucester Road service road from a point about 35 metres east of its junction with Fleming Road to a point about 65 metres east of the same junction;
4. The southern kerbside lane of Gloucester Road service road from a point about 70 metres west of its junction with Stewart Road to a point about 100 metres west of the same junction;
5. The southern kerbside lane of Gloucester Road service road from a point about 10 metres west of its junction with Tonnochy Road to a point about 75 metres west of the same junction;
6. The eastern kerbside lane of Stewart Road from its junction with Jaffe Road to a point about 35 metres north of the same junction;
7. The western kerbside lane of Tonnochy Road from its junction with Jaffe Road to a point about 25 metres north of the same junction; and
8. The southern kerbside lane of Lockhart Road from a point about 25 metres east of its junction with Fleming Road to a point about 40 metres east of the same junction.
D. Learner drivers prohibition
The following roads will be prohibited to all learner drivers from about 12.01am on June 30 to noon on July 1:
1. Leighton Road;
2. Sharp Street East;
3. Percival Street south of Hennessy Road;
4. Caroline Hill Road;
5. Link Road;
6. Stadium Path;
7. Cotton Path;
8. Eastern Hospital Road; and
9. Eastern Hospital Road service road.
In addition, learner drivers cannot enter Tung Lo Wan Road from Causeway Road.
E. Suspension of parking spaces and pick-up/ drop-off areas
All metered parking spaces and motorcycle parking spaces on Jaffe Road between O’Brien Road and Tonnochy Road will be suspended from about 6pm on June 28 to noon on July 1.
All motorcycle parking spaces on the general pick-up/ drop-off and loading/ unloading area on Lung Wo Road north of Star Ferry Multi-Storey Car Park will be suspended from about 6pm on June 28 to 10pm on July 1.
All metered parking spaces, motorcycle parking spaces and disabled parking spaces on eastbound Lung Wui Road opposite to CITIC Tower will be suspended from about 6pm on June 28 to 10pm on July 1.
All metered parking spaces and motorcycle parking spaces on Lung King Street will be suspended from about 6pm on June 28 to 10pm on July 1.
All metered parking spaces and disabled parking spaces on Stadium Path will be suspended from about 6pm on June 28 to 10pm on July 1.
All metered parking spaces on Stewart Road between Gloucester Road service road and Jaffe Road will be suspended from about 6pm on June 28 to 10pm on July 1.
All metered parking spaces, motorcycle parking spaces and disabled parking spaces on Tramway Lane outside Garden Road Peak Tram Lower Terminus and Upper Albert Road will be suspended from about 8pm on June 28 to 11.59pm the following day.
The coach parking spaces and pick-up/ drop-off area at Expo Drive East will be suspended from about 12.01am on June 29 to noon on July 1.
All motorcycle parking spaces on southbound Yip Fat Street near Heung Yip Road will be suspended from about 7am on June 29 to noon the following day.
All metered parking spaces, motorcycle parking spaces and disabled parking spaces on Gloucester Road service road between Canal Road West and Marsh Road will be suspended from about 7am on June 29 to noon the following day.
All metered parking spaces on Kennedy Road near Cotton Tree Drive will be suspended from about 2pm to 10pm on June 29.
F. Suspension of car parks
All car parks within the road closure areas may be closed by the Police at short notice if necessary. In addition, vehicles in car parks within the road closure areas may not be permitted to leave the car parks during the road closure period.
Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precincts of the special traffic arrangements will be towed away without prior notice and may be subject to multiple ticketing.
Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the areas. Members of the public are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
