Fatal traffic accident in Castle Peak

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Castle Peak this afternoon (June 25) in which a 57-year-old woman died.

     At about 2.35pm, a 57-year-old woman was riding a bicycle downhill along Maclehose Trail. The woman fell onto the ground after the bicycle reportedly lost control and rammed onto a tree.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Pok Oi Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 3.37pm.

     Investigation will be taken over by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North.

     Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers at 3661 3800.
