PST to visit Paris

     The Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Transport), Mr Joseph Lai, will depart Hong Kong for Paris, France, tomorrow (June 22) to sign a Protocol of Cooperation on capacity building and safety enhancement in civil aviation on behalf of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region with the Director-General of the French Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile, Mr Patrick Gandil, to promote civil aviation co-operation between Hong Kong and France.

     During his visit, Mr Lai will also meet with Mr Gandil to discuss bilateral civil aviation and air services matters, have exchanges with the Deputy Chief Executive Officer - Development, Engineering and Transformation of Aéroports de Paris, Mr Edward Arkwright, on the latest airport developments and visit the 52nd Paris Air Show.

     Mr Lai will witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Chairman of the Airport Authority Hong Kong, Mr Jack So, and the President of the National School of Civil Aviation of France (Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile), Mr Marc Houalla, on co-operation details of the joint programmes to be delivered at the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy.

     Mr Lai will return to Hong Kong in the early morning on Saturday (June 24).
