Issue of "100 Years of Numbered Typhoon Signals" commemorative stamps - New Stamp Sales and Hand-back Arrangements under Typhoon Merbok

     Hongkong Post announced that if tropical cyclone warning signal No. 8 or above is hoisted for the whole day tomorrow (June 13), new stamps and philatelic products will be put on sale the following available day (June 14) at all post offices. On June 14, all post offices will provide hand-back datestamping service for the special postmark of "100 Years of Numbered Typhoon Signals", using the scheduled issue date of June 13, 2017 for official and privately-made covers bearing the first day of issue indication and a local address. There will be no hand-back datestamping service for the office steel datestamp, GPO-1 postmark, "Philatelic Bureau" pictorial postmarks or philatelic office pictorial postmark.

     If tropical cyclone warning signal No. 8 is lowered at or after 2pm on June 13, new stamp sales will be provided as soon as the post offices resume normal service. Special hand-back datestamping service will be provided for the special postmark of "100 Years of Numbered Typhoon Signals" on the following day (June 14), using the scheduled issue date of June 13, 2017 for official and privately-made covers bearing the first day of issue indication and a local address. There will be no hand-back datestamping service for the office steel datestamp, GPO-1 postmark, "Philatelic Bureau" pictorial postmarks or philatelic office pictorial postmark.
