SFST to visit Singapore

     The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, will leave for Singapore tomorrow morning (June 8) for a two-day visit to foster closer ties between the two places.
 
     Upon arrival in Singapore, Professor Chan will have separate meetings with the Minister for Finance of Singapore, Mr Heng Swee Keat, and the Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Mr Ravi Menon.
 
     He will be the guest of honour and deliver a keynote speech at the gala dinner organised by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
 
     On Friday (June 9), Professor Chan will visit the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, a sovereign wealth fund established by the Singaporean Government to manage the nation's foreign reserves, and the Singapore Exchange. He will also meet with prominent figures from the Association of Banks of Singapore over lunch to exchange views on financial issues of mutual interest.
 
     Professor Chan will return to Hong Kong on Friday night.
