Fatal traffic accident in Chai Wan

At about 12.15pm, a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) driven by a 51-year-old man was travelling along Shing On Street eastbound. When reaching near Sai Wan Ho Street, it reportedly knocked down the 55-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining head injuries, the woman was certified dead at scene.
The HGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island is underway.
