SCED speaks on Food Truck Pilot Scheme
**************************************
Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, at a media session on the Food Truck Pilot Scheme after attending the Sha Tin Dragon Boat Race 2017 in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region today (May 30):

Reporter: Can we still call this food truck scheme a success despite repeated pulling-out from the operators?

Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development: I am glad that we could touch up all these things because it is a pilot scheme. We try all kinds of measures to see whether they would be conducive to creating a better environment for the operators. So we are trying out all kinds of things. We are open to new ideas. This is a pilot scheme after all. It will add to the fabric of our tourism attractions. I think it is a very good thing and we could tease out all these problems. Actually, we have a very good dialogue with the operators. We listen to their views and suggestions. We hope to make this better.

Reporter: Will the Government expect that there will be more operators pulling out?

Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development: I think it is a normal process. Some people would like to get in. And some think the environment may not be for them. I think we need to respect how they would like to operate. I am confident that this scheme would bring out the best for the tourism attractions in Hong Kong.
