Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected ketamine (with photo)

     Hong Kong Customs yesterday (May 29) seized about two kilograms of suspected ketamine with an estimated market value of about $530,000 in Tsuen Wan.

     During an anti-narcotics operation conducted yesterday evening, Customs officers intercepted a man in Tsuen Wan and found the suspected ketamine inside a backpack carried by him. The 24-year-old man was then arrested.

     The arrested man claimed to be a decoration worker. Investigation is ongoing.

     Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence.  The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $5 million and life imprisonment.
