Fatal traffic accident in Pat Heung

At about 8.22pm yesterday, a public light bus (PLB) driven by an 82-year-old man was travelling along Kam Tin Road towards Yuen Long. When reaching near Pat Heung Police Station, it reportedly knocked down a 62-year-old man who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 1.03am today (May 21).
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm after the accident. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in late-May.
Investigation by the Accident Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
