Ms Ho said, "Whilst Poland is located in the center of Europe, Hong Kong is located in the heart of Asia. With our long-standing and unique role as the 'super-connector' between the vast Mainland market and the rest of the world, Hong Kong makes an ideal gateway for Polish companies to tap on the numerous new business opportunities, especially under the Belt and Road Initiative, for breaking into the greater China or even Asian markets." She also highlighted Hong Kong's fundamental strengths, including the rule of law and simple tax regime that contributed to the favourable business environment in Hong Kong.  She invited Polish companies to explore the opportunities by joining various international trade fairs in Hong Kong.

In 2016, bilateral trade between Poland and Hong Kong was around 1.5 billion euros, representing a remarkable growth of 10 per cent  compared to that in 2015. Main exports from Poland to Hong Kong were meat and meat products, which accounted for over 50 per cent of the total export. Since 2013, Poland companies have participated in the Hong Kong Food Expo and successfully brought Polish brand names to the Hong Kong and Mainland catering scenes.
