The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

     Legislative Council (LegCo) Members conducted a site visit today (May 13) to the waste recycling yards in Wan Po Road, Tseung Kwan O to follow up on a complaint relating to the nuisance caused by the waste recycling yards to nearby residents.

     Accompanied by representatives of various government departments, such as the District Lands Office, Sai Kung, the Environmental Protection Department and the Transport Department, Members visited the waste recycling yards and the adjacent public car park, and received briefings by the government departments on the follow-up actions taken to address the concerns of the deputation.

     Members who participated in the site visit are LegCo Redress System Duty Roster Member, Mr Shiu Ka-chun (Convenor), and the invited Members, Mr Chu Hoi-dick and Dr Yiu Chung-yim.
