Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong

     Police today (May 12) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong on May 6 in which a 70-year-old man died.

     About 10.05am that day, a minibus driven by a 77-year-old man was travelling along Tsui Ping Road northbound. When reaching near Tsui Nam House, Tsui Ping (North) Estate, the minibus reportedly knocked down the 70-year-old man who was crossing the road.
           
     Sustaining serious head injuries, the 70-year-old man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state. He was certified dead at 6.25pm on May 9.

     The minibus driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death after the accident. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in late-May.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.
