Speech by CE at reception for awardees of 45th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva (with photos/video)
***************************************************************

Following is the speech by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at a reception to commend Hong Kong teams' inventions for winning awards at the 45th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva today (May 11):

Consul-General (Consul-General of Switzerland to Hong Kong and Macau, Mr Reto Renggli), distinguished guests, government colleagues, ladies and gentlemen,

Good afternoon. Innovation concerns three things - what is desirable, what is possible, and what is viable. It is the combination of the three that makes an innovation successful. And that, I am glad to see, defines our innovations - Hong Kong innovations - at the 45th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva.

We are privileged to have Mr Renggli, Consul-General of Switzerland, with us today. To join us in celebrating our achievements in the Geneva competition. I shall now, if you allow me, Consul-General, continue in Cantonese so that I may congratulate the awardees in our mother tongue.
