Special traffic arrangements on Sunday

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements to facilitate two public processions to be held on Hong Kong Island this Sunday (April 30).

(I)

     The following roads will be intermittently closed from 9.45am until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal:

- Hau Tak Lane;
- Wong Nai Chung Road between Hau Tak Lane and northbound Morrison Hill Road;
- Eastbound Queen’s Road East between Morrison Hill Service Road and Wong Nai Chung Road, except for franchised buses and green minibuses;
- Northbound Morrison Hill Road;
- Sports Road;
- Southbound Wong Nai Chung Road between Sports Road and Shan Kwong Road; and
- Northbound Wong Nai Chung Road between Shan Kwong Road and Hau Tak Lane.

(II)

     The following roads will be intermittently closed from 12.30pm until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal:

- Eastbound Yee Wo Street;
- Causeway Road;
- Westbound Leighton Road; and
- Keswick Street.

   During the road closure period, vehicles may not be allowed to leave the car parks along the procession routes.

     Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the special traffic arrangements will be towed away without prior notice.

     Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
