A spokesman for the HAD today (April 28) clarified that the Home Affairs Bureau and HAD have not issued any such letters, nor requested personal data from members of the public.
"Similar frauds happen from time to time. We would like to remind members of the public to stay vigilant and not to provide their personal data to suspicious persons. If in doubt, they should clarify with HAD at 2835 2500 during office hours or report the matter to the Police," said the spokesman.
