London ETO launches programme of events to commemorate HKSAR 20th anniversary (with photos)

     The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London (London ETO) formally announced its programme of events to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR 20th anniversary) in a launch reception yesterday (April 25, London Time).

     The London ETO will be organising and supporting a series of business and cultural events in countries under its purview throughout 2017 under the theme "Together·Progress·Opportunity", sharing the joy of the memorable occasion with friends in these countries to celebrate .

     The celebration programme offers a blend of art and creativity alongside trade and commerce, aiming to showcase the various strengths and advantages of Hong Kong as well as to promote Hong Kong as a multi-faceted international metropolis.

     The London ETO also announced at the reception the official launch of a dedicated website for its programme of events for the HKSAR 20th anniversary (www.hketolondon20.gov.hk).

     Speaking at the launch reception, Ms Priscilla To, the Director-General of the London ETO explained the key messages behind the theme underpinning the celebration programme and highlighted the wide variety of events in the programme. "Our celebration programme spreads across ten months, covering all nine countries under our office's purview and including events in various fields such as music, design and fashion, visual arts, films, youth exchange and business promotion," she said.

     The London ETO represents the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, the Russian Federation, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Its mission is to promote and strengthen Hong Kong's economic, trade and cultural links with these countries.
