Japanese confectionary brand QUOLOFUNE expands to Hong Kong (with photos)

     The Japanese confectionary brand QUOLOFUNE announced today (April 26) that it has established a presence in Hong Kong to drive the brand’s regional expansion from the city.
 
     The new QUOLOFUNE counter is located in Sogo department store in Causeway Bay and offers traditional Japanese confections including the brand's signature Castella sponge cake. The Chief Executive Officer of the NAGASAKIDO Group which owns the brand, Mr Takashi Araki, said that Hong Kong has great appeal with its international city status, which means the brand can reach customers from around the world.
 
     He said, "Hong Kong is strategically located at the heart of Asia, as well as being one of the world’s leading business hubs. This city will help us spread our brand more effectively to millions of travellers from around the globe." He added that the brand will use the city as a base to expand to other countries in Asia such as Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand.
 
     Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Dr Jimmy Chiang lauded QUOLOFUNE's arrival in Hong Kong. He said, "It is a smart decision for QUOLOFUNE to set up a presence in our city. Hong Kong people love Japanese food and culture. I believe that the QUOLOFUNE brand can leverage Hong Kong’s unique location to scale new heights in its global and regional marketing."
