SED to visit Vietnam to promote education co-operation

     The Secretary for Education (SED), Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, will depart on a two-day visit to Vietnam on Wednesday (April 26) where he will call on local education officials and visit a university to explore opportunities for promoting co-operation between higher education institutions of the two places.

     In Hanoi, Mr Ng will meet with officials of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam to exchange views on education and manpower policies. They will also deliberate on the agreement and measures for extending the "Belt and Road" Scholarship to Vietnam.

     Mr Ng will also visit a local university to look into the latest development of higher education in Vietnam and co-operation opportunities between universities of the two places. He will also visit a local high school, and an apparel factory owned by a Hong Kong-based global company.

     Accompanying Mr Ng on his visit to Vietnam will be the Administrative Assistant to the SED, Mr Edward Yu. They will return to Hong Kong around noon on April 28.

     During Mr Ng's absence, the Under Secretary for Education, Mr Kevin Yeung, will be the Acting SED.
