******************************************************************************************
The works of competition winners will be seen across the city as part of the "HKSAR 20th Anniversary Roving Exhibition" launched today by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung.
Joining Mr Cheung for the prize ceremony were the Director of the Celebrations Co-ordination Office, Mr Gordon Leung; the Director of Information Services, Mr Joe Wong; and Principal Education Officer of the Education Bureau, Mr Joe Ng.
"The winning entries are full of creativity and imagination," Mr Cheung said.
"They expressed a strong sense of belonging to our home and demonstrated our aspirations for a better future for Hong Kong.
"I encourage all the participants to pursue their dreams and aspirations as shown in their work to help build a better future for Hong Kong together."
The competitions were organised jointly by the Information Services Department, the Education Bureau, Ming Pao and the South China Morning Post.
With a theme of "When I'm 20 ...", primary students were invited to design a poster which shared their thoughts of what life would be like when they were 20 years old.
Chan Sau-yee, an eleven-year-old student from SKH Kei Yan Primary School, was the winner. His entry showed creativity and imagination by suggesting that an undersea city could be built in Hong Kong to solve the problem of insufficient land supply in the future.
The video competition, with a theme of "Togetherness", consisted of two categories - one for secondary school students and the other for an open category.
Participants were encouraged to produce a short video to bring out the message of working together during this 20th anniversary year.
The open category winner was Iu Kit-man, Chu Wai-ling and Chan Chin-hong. Their video – "You are there too on the road ahead" - expressed the hope for Hong Kong to scale new heights by working together hand in hand.
Lam Hoi-to, Chee Ka-ka, Lai Hoi-yan and Yip Tin-kuen from True Light Girls' College won the champion of the secondary school category. The winning video – "Different views amidst togetherness" – encouraged Hong Kong people to listen to different voices and move forward together.
Students and members of the public were invited to submit their entries from December 14 last year to February 24. About 3,000 entries were received by deadline.
The full list of winners and merit award recipients can be found on the 20th anniversary website at www.hksar20.gov.hk/eng/poster.html.
