***************************************************************

A roving exhibition to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland was launched today (April 14) at D·PARK in Tsuen Wan.

The launch ceremony included the prize presentation for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) 20th anniversary poster design and video competitions.

Under the theme "Together • Progress • Opportunity", the "HKSAR 20th Anniversary Roving Exhibition" will be seen at six locations around Hong Kong over six months.

The ceremony was officiated by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung; the Director of the Celebrations Co-ordination Office, Mr Gordon Leung; the Director of Information Services, Mr Joe Wong; and Principal Education Officer of Education Bureau Mr Joe Ng.

Mr Cheung said the HKSAR 20th anniversary is a special occasion which is a major milestone in Hong Kong's development and history.

"The 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region demonstrates the successful implementation of "One Country, Two Systems" and the continuous support of our Motherland, showcasing the stability and prosperity of the society," said Mr Cheung.

"Looking forward, we will continue to give full play to our unique advantages by making the best use of the dual advantages of "One Country" and "Two Systems"; seizing the opportunities of the "Belt and Road" Initiative, the National 13th Five-Year Plan and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area; and, consolidating Hong Kong's role as a “super-connector’.

Mr Cheung said he was pleased to launch the HKSAR's 20th Anniversary roving exhibition, which looks back at the HKSAR's achievements over the past 20 years and looks forward to new opportunities in the future.

Mr Cheung encouraged people to visit the exhibition with their families and friends.

Visitors will be able to receive a 20th anniversary souvenir by clicking the 'Like' button on the HKSAR 20th anniversary Facebook page www.facebook.com/HKSAR20/.

Mr Cheung hoped visitors would also take photographs at the exhibition and share them on social media with family and friends around the world.

Rather than traditional exhibition panels, the roving exhibition features multi-touch screens that make up a giant LED panel.

Members of the public can use the touch screens to reconnect with the many positive developments of the HKSAR over the past 20 years in areas such as the economy, technology, infrastructure, tourism, culture and sport.

Officiating guests also presented prizes to the winners of the HKSAR 20th anniversary poster design and video competitions and chatted with the winners.

All winning entries will be shown at the roving exhibition and posted online.

Apart from viewing the exhibition panels and winning posters and videos, visitors can also play an interactive game which features fireworks and iconic Hong Kong food items.

Visitors can take photographs and selfies with some of the 20th anniversary's design elements including a giant rubber duck, a birthday cake and a longevity bun.

The 20th anniversary theme song "Hong Kong Our Home" and two promotional videos with the theme of “Together • Progress • Opportunity” are also being shown.
