************************************
The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Mr Jin Liqun, at Government House this afternoon (April 12) to exchange views on issues of mutual interest.

Mr Leung said that the AIIB approved in March this year Hong Kong's application to join and that Hong Kong would become a new member once it confirms the acceptance of the Bank's Articles of Agreement and deposits the first instalment of capital subscription with the Bank. He thanked Mr Jin for his enormous support for Hong Kong's participation in the AIIB.

Mr Leung said that as the international financial centre in Asia, Hong Kong could make good use of its unique advantages under "one country, two systems", its world-class talents and its extensive experience in handling large-scale projects in contributing to the success of the AIIB.
