Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Wong Tai Sin this morning (April 11) in which a 15-year-old girl died.

     At about 8am, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 61-year-old man was travelling along northbound Sheung Fung Street. When reaching the junction with Lung Fung Street, the vehicle reportedly knocked down the 15-year-old girl who was crossing the road.

     The girl was trapped under the vehicle and rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious injuries, the girl was rushed to Caritas Medical Centre in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 10.17am.

     The PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is underway.
