Senior Counsel appointed

The following is issued on behalf of the Judiciary:

     The Honourable Chief Justice Geoffrey Ma Tao-li was pleased to announce today (April 11) the appointment of a Senior Counsel of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He is Mr Abraham Chan Lok-shung.

     The appointment is made by the Chief Justice under section 31A of the Legal Practitioners Ordinance.

     The appointment will take effect from the date of the Instrument of Appointment, which will be executed on June 10, 2017, when the ceremonial proceedings will be held at 10am in the Court of Final Appeal.

     The biographical note of the newly appointed Senior Counsel is as follows:

Mr Abraham Chan Lok-shung

     Mr Abraham Chan Lok-shung, aged 38, obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree at the University of London and his Bachelor of Civil Law degree at the University of Oxford. He was admitted to the English Bar (Inner Temple), and to the Hong Kong Bar in 2000. He has a civil practice.
