Blood benevolence saves lives
*****************************
The Red Cross is calling for Hong Kong residents to follow in the footsteps of Ricky Yu, who has given blood 204 times in 24 years. He is also an apheresis donor, contributing plasma and platelets through a special procedure every two weeks.

Demand for blood continues to rise but inventories remain low, therefore regular blood donors play a crucial role in the community.

News.gov.hk recently spoke to Mr Yu and Red Cross Head of Blood Collection & Donor Recruitment Dr Jennifer Leung to learn about blood demand and how the public can help during the upcoming Easter holiday.

The story appears on news.gov.hk today (April 9) in text and video format.
