Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Stephen Sui, after attending HK.WeCARE Volunteer Day today (April 2):

Reporter: For the industrial accidents happened in Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge project in recent months, what will the Labour and Welfare Bureau do in following up the fatal industrial accidents?

Secretary for Labour and Welfare: The Labour Department is conducting an investigation.  Having regard to the findings, we will see whether there should be improvement measures, and whether prosecution should be made.  We are very concerned about the recent industrial accidents, especially those involving the construction industry and working at height.  Apart from continuing to step up our monitoring, prosecution action and publicity effort to raise the awareness, the Labour Department is liaising with various parties with a view to conducting a service-wide campaign to raise the overall awareness of the industry, especially in terms of working at height and construction industry.
