2017-18 Funding Scheme on Life Education for Young People to open for application tomorrow

The following is issued on behalf of the Commission on Youth:

     The Home Affairs Bureau and the Commission on Youth (CoY) will launch the 2017-18 Funding Scheme on Life Education for Young People tomorrow (April 1). The application period will close at 5pm on May 5 (Friday).

     The funding scheme has been established on the invitation of the Board of Management of the Chinese Permanent Cemeteries with an aim of giving young people a correct understanding of life values and cultivating positive attitudes towards life among them by advocating Chinese traditional values.

     The scheme subsidises non-governmental organisations to organise life education activities for young people aged between 12 and 29. The maximum subsidy for each project is $200,000. The successful applicants shall devise a wide variety of life education activities, including training, seminars and workshops, in accordance with the aim of the scheme.

     Interested parties are welcome to join the briefing session to be held at the Y Studio, 2/F, Youth Square, 238 Chai Wan Road, Hong Kong, at 5pm on April 12 (Wednesday) to learn more about the scope of the scheme. Prior reservation is required.
