Wounding case in Mong Kok reclassified as murder

About 8pm that day, Police received a report that a 32-year-old non-ethnic-Chinese (NEC) man was assaulted by about 20 men with iron poles outside a rest garden on Sycamore Street.
Police officers sped to the scene and located the 32-year-old man who sustained injuries to his head. He was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 5.45pm yesterday.
Upon investigation, Police arrested a 25-year-old NEC man and a 26-year-old NEC man yesterday, and a 25-year-old NEC man today in connection with the case. They are being detained for further enquiries. Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.
Investigation by the Regional Anti-Triad Unit of Kowloon West is underway.
