Information on surplus government accommodation available on GPA's website
**************************************************************************
The Government Property Agency (GPA) will, starting from today (March 28), upload to its website the information on surplus government accommodation available for leasing application by non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

At present, government departments are responsible for the proper management and gainful use of their surplus government properties, if any. In general, departments will first identify appropriate alternative user departments as soon as practicable for the accommodation concerned, followed by leasing the accommodation concerned through a commercial approach or direct leasing to NGOs with policy support of the relevant bureau or department. The GPA keeps the information of surplus accommodation under the management of departments.

"To facilitate public access to information of surplus government accommodation available for leasing application by NGOs, relevant information provided by the departments will be uploaded to the GPA's website from now on. The property list will be updated from time to time. Interested NGOs can refer to the GPA's website for information on ways to make applications to the relevant bureaux or departments for leasing the accommodation," a GPA spokesman said.

For details, please visit the GPA's website at www.gpa.gov.hk/english/let/let.html.
