Fatal traffic accident in Tsim Sha Tsui

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsim Sha Tsui in the small hours today (March 28) in which a 69-year-old man died.

     At about 0.10am, a taxi driven by a 61-year-old man was travelling along Nathan Road towards Sham Shui Po. When reaching the junction with Haiphong Road, it reportedly knocked down the 69-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining head injuries, the male pedestrian was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 1.34am.

     The taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
