LD to hold occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Occupational Health Series of Office Workers (II): Prevention of Musculoskeletal Disorders" on March 24 (Friday). This talk aims to enhance office workers' awareness of musculoskeletal disorders of the back and upper limbs arising from prolonged repetitive movements or improper sitting posture. The talk will analyse the causes of and measures for preventing musculoskeletal disorders. Demonstrations of workplace exercise will also be included.

     The talk will be held at 6.30pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The LD's Occupational Hygienist and Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Prevention of Upper Limb Disorders" on March 30 (Thursday). The talk will briefly describe the structure and functions of upper limbs, and discuss the main causes and preventive measures of upper limb disorders to enhance employees' awareness of the issues. Demonstrations of workplace exercise will be included.

     The talk will be held at 2.30pm at Fanling Occupational Health Clinic, 7/F, Fanling Health Centre, 2 Pik Fung Road, Fanling, New Territories. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free. For enquiries or registration, please call 2852 4040.
