The Electrical and Mechanical Trades Expo 2017 - E&M New Generation is being held today (March 10) and tomorrow (March 11) at the Vocational Training Council (VTC) Kwai Chung Complex to provide the latest information on training, entry paths, career prospects and promotion pathways for the electrical and mechanical engineering field.

     Speaking at the launch ceremony today, the Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services, Mr Frank Chan, said that the event aims to promote the professional image and good prospects of the electrical and mechanical industry to the younger generation. He said that the trades cover a wide range of work including construction, installation, repair and maintenance. He called on young people to develop a lifelong career in the field.

     The Expo was organised by the Hong Kong Electrical and Mechanical Trade Promotion Working Group. A total of 17 public and private organisations are participating in the event. Apart from exhibition booths, there are career talks to introduce various branches of the electrical and mechanical industry, covering air-conditioning, vehicles, fire services, gas, electronics, escalators, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, water supply, power supply, transportation and railways, and more.

     The Expo is being held at the Assembly Hall, 2/F, VTC Kwai Chung Complex, 13-19 San Kwai Street, Kwai Chung (MTR Kwai Fong Station Exit A), from 10am to 4pm. Admission is free.

     Established in 2012, the Hong Kong Electrical and Mechanical Trade Promotion Working Group is committed to promoting the sustainable development of the electrical and mechanical industry. The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department is a member of the Group.
