     At the invitation of the Government, the Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Welfare Services visited two private residential care homes for persons with disabilities (RCHDs) today (March 6) to better understand their facilities and services.
 
     Members visited the facilities of the two private RCHDs located in Kwai Chung, and exchanged views with the residents to understand their living conditions and needs. Members were also briefed by frontline staff on their daily work and experiences in taking care of persons with disabilities.
 
     The Panel on Welfare Services discussed the quality problem of private RCHDs and related issues at its meetings on November 1 and December 12, 2016. The agendas and discussion papers of the meetings can be found at the respective webpages as follows: www.legco.gov.hk/yr16-17/english/panels/ws/agenda/ws20161101.htm and

     Members who participated in the visit included the Chairman of the Panel, Mr Shiu Ka-chun, the Deputy Chairman of the Panel, Mr Kwong Chun-yu, and Panel members Mr Leung Yiu-chung, Dr Fernando Cheung, Mr Poon Siu-ping, Mr Alvin Yeung and Ms Yung Hoi-yan.
