The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The Hospital Authority (HA) today (February 21) announced the launch of an obstetric mobile application, "HApi Journey", tomorrow (February 22) to provide a one-stop portal of health information and useful tips to assist pregnant women in their pregnancy journey and also help them get well prepared for the newborn.

According to the HA spokesman, pregnant women can make use of the app to record their pregnancy journey, including the health records of blood pressure and blood glucose level, the antenatal check-up schedule, and the contraction time and frequency during labour. In addition, the app also provides health advice related to pregnancy such as information on a healthy diet, breastfeeding and postnatal care to get pregnant women well prepared both psychologically and physiologically for the childbirth.

"Besides the information and tips for pregnancy, the app also lists out the service information of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Departments in public hospitals including service hours, telephone numbers and preparations for admission," the spokesman added.

Starting from tomorrow, "HApi Journey" can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple App Store (requires iOS version 8.0 or above) or Google Play (requires Android version 4.2 or above) and it is available in both traditional Chinese and English languages. Posters are also displayed at public hospitals to help publicise the newly launched app to the community.
