Dead body found case in Tsim Sha Tsui reclassified as murder and theft

     Police yesterday (February 13) reclassified a dead body found case happened in Tsim Sha Tsui on October 26 last year as murder and theft.

     At about 11.55am on October 26 last year, Police received a report from a 37-year-old female staff member that a man was found collapsed inside the room of a guesthouse at 58 Nathan Road.

     Police officers sped to the scene and found the man lying unconsciously on the bed. He was certified dead at scene. No identity document was found in his possession. Police later confirmed that he was a 45-year-old man.

     Post-mortem result revealed that the deceased was suspected of being assaulted before his death. Upon further investigation, Police believed that someone withdrew money from the deceased’s bank account for multiple times after the incident. The case was reclassified as murder and theft. Two foreign men, aged 35 and 40 respectively, are believed to be in suspected connection with the case.

     Active investigation by the Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West is under way.
