HA provides final wrap-up on casualties in fire in Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     Regarding a fire in Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station this evening (February 10), the spokesperson for the Hospital Authority (HA) made the following announcement today:
      
     Upon notification by the Fire Services Department about the incident, the HA immediately activated the Major Incident Control Centre (MICC) to co-ordinate contingency measures. Queen Elizabeth Hospital despatched an emergency medical team with a doctor and a nurse to the accident site to help triage and provide initial treatment to patients. A total of four public hospitals (Caritas Medical Centre, Kwong Wah Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital) have been alerted to standby to receive the causalties in their Accident & Emergency Departments. As the incident involved a number of burnt patients, the MICC also alerted the burns centres of Queen Mary Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital; and the Hong Kong Poison Information Centre.
      
     As at 10.40pm, public hospitals have received 18 injuries. Their distribution and condition is in the annex.
