Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected methamphetamine (with photo)

     ​Hong Kong Customs yesterday (February 9) seized about 1 kilogram of suspected methamphetamine with an estimated market value of about $335,000 at Lo Wu Control Point.

     Customs officers yesterday evening intercepted an incoming male passenger at Lo Wu Control Point and found the suspected methamphetamine in the plastic bag he carried.

     The man, aged 51 and claiming to be a casual worker, was arrested. Investigation is ongoing.

     Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $5 million and life imprisonment.
