Fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui yesterday (February 7) in which a 57-year-old man died.

     At about 6.05pm, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 57-year-old man was travelling along Fanling Highway towards Yuen Long. When reaching near the roundabout of So Kwun Po Road, it reportedly collided with a MGV, a private car and a light goods vehicle.

     The 57-year-old MGV driver was trapped inside the compartment, and was rescued by firemen. He was rushed to North District Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 6.58pm. The 37-year-old male driver of the other MGV, as well as the 37-year-old male driver and the 32-year-old female passenger of the private car were injured. They were sent to North District Hospital for medical treatment in conscious state.

     Investigation will be conducted by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North.
