Police are investigating an attempted murder case in Tuen Mun in the small hours of today (February 6).

     At about 1.35am, Police received a report from a 46-year-old woman that her 35-year-old younger brother attacked his daughter inside a unit at Po Tong Ha.

     Police sped to the scene. After initial investigation, it was believed that the 35-year-old man attempted to feed his eight-year-old daughter and his six-year-old son with suspected poison, and attacked the girl with his hands. The 35-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder and is being detained for further enquiries.

     The eight-year-old girl sustained neck injury while the six-year-old boy sustained no superficial injury. They were sent to Tuen Mun hospital in conscious state for treatment and examination respectively.     

     Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Tuen Mun District is underway.
