New indoor heated pools at Kennedy Town Swimming Pool will be open for public use starting from next Tuesday (February 7) following the completion of its second phase reprovisioning works.

     The new facilities are all indoor heated pools including a secondary pool measuring 50 metres x 15 metres, a training pool measuring 25 metres x 12.5 metres, and an oblong-shaped jacuzzi, allowing members of the public to enjoy the fun of swimming in all weathers.

     The reprovisioning of the old Kennedy Town Swimming Pool was undertaken to facilitate the construction of the MTR West Island Line. The outdoor swimming pools have been open for public use since May 2011 when the first phase of the project was completed.

     Kennedy Town Swimming Pool is uniquely designed with an innovative exterior and various green elements. The rooftop is specially designed to allow sunlight to penetrate. Solar panel collectors have also been installed to provide hot water for the swimming pools and achieve energy saving. Moreover, swimmers can enjoy a splendid view of Victoria Harbour from the outdoor pools. When an outdoor secondary pool and a leisure pool resume service in the new swimming season in mid-April, the new complex will be fully open for public use.

     Kennedy Town Swimming Pool is situated at 2 Sai Cheung Street North in Kennedy Town, next to Belcher Bay Park. It is easily accessible by MTR, tram, bus or minibus.
