Police urge no radical acts during festive season
*************************************************
Police today (January 27) appeal to members of the public to express their views in a peaceful and rational manner.  They should refrain from disrupting public order and engaging in acts that disregard the safety of others, so that all citizens can enjoy the Lunar New Year festive season.

Police recently noted on the Internet and from other sources that some people called on others to participate in assemblies at Lunar New Year Fairs and might disrupt public order and engage in acts that disregard safety of others. Police express concern.

Police stress that Lunar New Year Fairs and popular places people go during holiday are very crowded. Any provocative or radical acts will pose danger to oneself and other people at the scene, and result in grave consequences.

Public safety and public order are Police’s prime concerns. Police will take resolute enforcement action if anyone deliberately disrupts public order and engages in acts that disregard the safety of others. Police also remind members of the public that they should not be influenced or used by others to commit any illegal acts.

Police appeal to the people to express their views in a peaceful and rational manner. Anyone intends to organise public event is urged to contact Police as soon as possible so as to discuss relevant arrangements and facilitate the event to be conducted in a lawful and orderly manner.
