***************************************************************

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Berlin (HKETO Berlin) supported the German designer with Asian root, William Fan, to participate in Berlin Fashion Week, showcasing his new Fall/Winter collection "Afternoon Stories" on January 19 (Berlin time). The collection and setting of the show strongly visualised William Fan's heritage: the life and streets of Hong Kong. The Director of HKETO Berlin, Ms Betty Ho, attended the show, together with around 200 guests from fashion and lifestyle press as well as influencer from German fashion and art scene.

Over the years, Hong Kong has managed to establish an innovative fashion industry with fresh approaches and original designs. Companies trading garments in Hong Kong are experienced in fabrics procurement, marketing, quality control and logistic arrangements. With his Asian roots, William Fan incorporates all of the above with his eponymous fashion label, by collaborating with manufacturers from Germany as well as Hong Kong. William Fan mixes classic tailoring with creative materials, blending Asian with European couture for men and women.

Berlin Fashion Week (Berliner Modewoche) is a fashion week held twice annually (in January and July) in Berlin, Germany. Since its establishment in July 2007, it has gained great international attention for its many creative young designers who are flourishing in the fashion capital of Berlin as well as renowned internationally for endorsing young and talented designers. Last year, there was an audience of more than 200 000 people, attending various fashion venues. Since July 2011, the event has taken place part in front of the Brandenburg Gate.
